From 15 to 18 September 2025, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will conduct a virtual scoping mission within the framework of the technical assistance project to the Kyrgyz Republic on Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT).
The mission aims to hold consultations with national authorities, exchange information on the existing CFT system, and identify priority areas for further work and upcoming IMF expert visits to Kyrgyzstan.
Participants will include representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Supreme Court, the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the State Tax and Customs Services, and other competent authorities.
The main topics of the meetings:
•assessment of CFT risks and national strategy;
•legal framework for the non-profit sector;
•targeted financial sanctions;
•investigation and prosecution of terrorism financing cases.
The State Financial Intelligence Service remains committed to strengthening cooperation with international partners to enhance the effectiveness of the national CFT system and ensure the financial security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
